Assesment:  After consulting and listening to this patient's needs Dr. Mentz determined that she wanted a more polished fresh look.  She had just started to notice the laxity in the skin and the tired appearance of her eyes.

Plan of Action:  Endoscopic browlift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, double layer SMAS facelift and necklift, fat grafting of the cheeks, laugh lines and chin area.

Note:  Take notice of the significant improvement with modest changes in the contours of the cheek, eyes and mouth.  Restoration of cheek fullness and strength in the jawline brings freshness and elegance to her facial features.

Assesment:  After listening to the patient and understanding that her goal was to look as great on the outside as she felt on the inside, Dr. Mentz determined that the flatness of the cheek and sagging of the midface was making her appear tired or sad.  He knew he needed to restore volume to her face, redirect the angles of her jawline, brow and eyes and place them in a more youthful position.

Plan of Action:  Double layer SMAS facelift, endoscopic browlift, upper and lower eyes, fat graft laughlines, cheeks, and chin area.

Note:  Take notice of the improvement in the skin laxity and the jowling is completely gone.  Her eyes and brows are beautiful and feminine again.

Age 68

Assessment: This is a 68 year old lady who is interested in reversing the inevitable signs of aging.  She is an active lady who is very youthful in spirit.

Plan of Action:  Facelift, Necklift, Endoscopic Browlift, Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty and fat grafting.

Note: The goal was to improve the sagging facial skin, jowls and loose skin by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and redraping skin.  The combination of the browlift and the upper and lower eyes gave her back the femininity of her youth.

Elevation of the brow position legnthens the face and increases the distance from lash to brow. This effectively opens the eyes and highlights the natural almond shape and elegance. The cheek was grafted below the eyes and along the outer cheek to the temple to add stregnth to the profile and further legnth to her features.

Another example of improvement of structural elements. A soft browlift endoscopic cheek lift add cheek stregnth and the fat grafts places throughout the temple, cheek and jawline add softness and youthfullness.

Rhinoplasty can be performed for many reasons and here was done to reduce thickness and fullness in the bridge and tip. Dr. Mentz utilizes a structure rhinoplasty technique learned from mentors Dean Toriumi, MD and Calvin Johnson, MD. The strategy requires restructuring the nose to add stregnth and structure and therefore creates more stability and a long lasting result. Here, the nasal hump was trimmed and slenderized with rasping and fracturing, and finally stabilizing spreader grafts lock the bridge into place. The nasal tip was refined through removal of some cartilage and additonal of some harvested septal cartilage which was removed to improve breathing. The tip cartilage was used to shape the tip and add refinement and elegance. Her result was much more structured and lean to match the rest of her delicate features.

Heavy and hooded eyelids can be reshaped by removing excess skin and fat to unweight and add elegance to eyelids. Sometimes blepharoplasty requires tacking of eyelids to create a deeper and longer lid crease as was done here.
