The Goal of Breast Enhancement Surgery
For a woman, the appearance of her breasts affects her personal sense of feminine beauty and her confidence. The image reflected in the mirror can be disappointing: your breasts may lack the fullness and curves you desire, or they may have lost firmness and shape, causing them to sag. Pregnancy, gravity, aging, and weight fluctuation can all take a toll on the breasts, leaving them smaller in volume, droopy, and deflated in appearance.
For other women, breasts are excessively large and heavy, causing them to feel self-conscious and unhappy with their appearance. In addition, the weight of the breasts commonly leads to a multitude of physical challenges that includes back, neck, and shoulder pain, and shoulder grooves from bra straps that dig in to the shoulders.
In just a one to two hour breast enhancement procedure, your breasts can be transformed and given a shapelier, firmer contour that beautifully complements your appearance and enhances your enjoyment of your body. Dr. Mentz will work with you to customize a plan that is perfectly tailored to your goals and your unique anatomy to give you the beautiful results you desire.

Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation surgery will give the breasts a shapelier, fuller contour through the insertion of either saline or silicone-filled implants. Breast augmentation can:
- Improve the size and shape of the breasts
- Provide more balanced proportions to your body
- Enhance your self-confidence
During your consultation with Dr. Mentz, you will have the opportunity to try on implants of varying sizes in order to help you visualize and choose the look you desire.
While breast augmentation increases the volume and projection of breasts, it does not significantly lift breasts that are sagging. For that reason, many women who desire added volume and correction of drooping breasts choose to combine breast augmentation with a breast lift procedure.
Breast augmentation is performed in approximately one hour as an outpatient procedure. Most women are able to return to work in 5-7 days.
Breast Lift Procedure(Mastopexy)
A breast lift firms and raises the breasts to give you a more youthful, attractive contour. Over time, a woman’s breasts lose their youthful shape and firmness due to factors such as gravity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations. A breast lift procedure may be a good option for you if you have one or more of the following conditions:
- Your breasts sag and lack firmness
- Your nipples and areolas point downward
- Your breasts have lost shape and volume
- Your breasts have developed a deflated, elongated, and/or flatter appearance
In a breast lift procedure, Dr. Mentz uses lifting techniques and removes excess skin to reshape and restore a firmer, uplifted contour to the breasts. Many patients choose to combine a breast lift with breast augmentation surgery to add fullness and further enhance the shapely appearance of the breasts.
A breast lift procedure is performed in approximately one and a half to three hours as an outpatient procedure. Most patients can return to work in one week.
Breast Reduction Procedure
Large breasts and heavy breasts can cause a woman to feel self-conscious about her appearance and also create a number of physical challenges such as back, neck, and shoulder pain and skin chafing beneath the breasts. In addition, the excessive proportions of the breasts can make it difficult to find clothes that are stylish and well-fitting.
In a breast reduction procedure, Dr. Mentz reshapes the breasts to make them lighter and more proportionate with the rest of the body. To achieve this, excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue is removed, and the breasts and nipples are elevated into a more attractive position. If the areolas are excessively large, they will be reduced to a size that is more balanced with the breasts new contours.
Breast reduction surgery is approximately two to four hours in length. In many cases, Dr. Mentz will advise that breast reduction patients stay overnight in a private recovery suites at his AAAASF certified private surgical facility where patients are cared for by his team of skilled and dedicated cosmetic plastic surgery nurses.

30-Minute Post-Surgical Therapeutic Massage
To support the comfort and recovery of our patients after surgery, we offer a post-surgical massage that is designed to speed the healing process and help you return to your normal daily activities more quickly. Using a combination of lymphatic and Swedish massage techniques, ACPS’s skilled licensed massage therapists use gentle stretching and range of movement motions throughout this 30-minute massage to provide the following benefits:
• Reduce swelling and bruising
• Improve flexibility
• Stimulate nerve endings to diminish numbness and any skin sensitivity
For the majority of our surgical patients, ACPS surgeons recommend one complimentary 30-minute massage about 10-14 days after surgery. At this appointment, an ACPS massage therapist will recommend the number of massages (if any) that you may need. Our typical charge for a 1/2 hr massage is $60, but if you need more than one massage we do have packages available at a 20% discount.
Scar Therapy System
To help diminish postoperative scars, we have designed a Scar Therapy System, which consists of three products to be applied daily in the weeks following surgery. This package includes two SkinMedica products: TNS Recovery Complex and Tri-Retinol Complex, and an advanced scar treatment gel. As an added benefit, the SkinMedica products can be applied to the face as part of a long-term daily routine to improve the skin’s tone and texture.
