At the center, Arriaga performs treatments to fill in wrinkles and to add volume to the face and lips through stem-cell enriched fat grafts that have been obtained from a patient's own body through liposuction.</p> <p>.The goal of volume restoration treatments such as RESET is to return the soft feminine contours that characterize a youthful face by restoring fullness to the cheeks, the underyeye area, and the lips. The duration of results varies among individuals. The fullness and wrinkle correcting benefits of fat grafts can last anywhere from several months to years.</p> <p>The procedure can be completed in 1-2 hours under local anesthesia in Renee’s office. In this time, fat is liposuctioned from areas such as the abdomen and thighs, and then centrifuged to purify it. The stem cell rich portion is then injected into the areas targeted for improvement. Any resulting facial bruising typically diminishes within one to two weeks and can be softened with concealing cosmetics.</p> <p>Though fat-grafting procedures have been a part of plastic surgery practice for decades, RESET is innovative in its emphasis on increasing the concentration of stem cells in fat grafts. Dr. Mentz has been actively working with the nation’s leading stem cell researchers to harness these cells’ potential benefits. Though no current evidence exists to conclusively prove they offer rejuvenative value in facial refinement procedures, the cells’ capacity to regenerate and repair tissue may enable them to improve the skin’s tone and texture.</p> <p> In offering RESET, Renee is one of the few nurse practitioners in the nation performing the procedure. She has worked closely with Dr. Mentz at his Houston, Texas office and surgical center to learn and perform the technique. </p> <h3>Cosmetic Injectable Treatments</h3> <p> As an alternative to fat grafting, The RESET Rejuvenation Center will also offer cosmetic injectable treatments to restore facial fullness and to fill in wrinkles and folds using BOTOX®Cosmetic, Dysport®, Juvederm®, Restylane®, and other hyaluronic-acid based fillers.
