Plastic Surgery Safety
Dr. Mentz is dedicated to the safety of his patients. He has been a member of Houston-area safety and inspection teams, and he has developed and presented strategies to improve safety in the operating room. His surgical center, the ACPS® SurgiCentre, is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and has received the highest certification possible from The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). This organization regulates surgical facilities to ensure that important safety criteria are met. Additionally, the SurgiCentre meets the standards of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN).
ACPS® SurgiCentre Director Billie Jo Fifield, RN, supervises a highly-skilled medical team that has been carefully selected by ACPS surgeons to provide care to patients. This team includes board certified anesthesiologists who monitor surgical patients using highly-advanced equipment. To further support patient safety, staff members receive advanced cardiovascular life support training every two years, and the facility is equipped with emergency life support and resuscitation equipment. All equipment at the SurgiCentre is AAAASF-certified, and AAAASF sterilization techniques are strictly followed.
