If you are considering a facelift or other facial rejuvenation procedure, I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Mentz. He is a highly qualified provider who exudes the confidence of a surgeon possessing years and years of experience performing multiple facelifts each week. Results surpassed my expectations, and I could not be more thankful I chose to trust my face to Dr. Mentz.
First, to give you some perspective, I consulted five different physicians before choosing Dr. Mentz. It was quite helpful to view his website’s extensive array of “before and after photos”, which is what prompted me to make an appointment in the first place. Once you see his gallery, other doctors’ results pale in comparison. What’s more, facelifts are so “second nature” to Dr. Mentz that one look at me during our initial consultation, and he knew exactly what I needed.
My consultation with Dr. Mentz was pleasant and informative. His New Patient Coordinator, AnaLisa Cole, is one of the kindest people you will meet. She is upbeat, positive, and answered a flood of questions to help alleviate my concerns about the procedure. Dr. Mentz was gracious, approachable and efficient. One of the things that impressed me most about him were his frank, honest answers to all of my questions. No, he couldn’t make me look like Pamela Anderson, but he could give me back 10 years. Lol. And, you will love the 3D imaging Dr. Mentz uses to help visualize your results. By uploading the patient’s “before” photo into the computer, Dr. Mentz is able to perform “virtual surgery”, generating a very close representation of how you will look once fully recovered.
I had no issues securing a surgery date that worked for me and, the day of surgery, I was a little nervous — mostly just contemplating the fear of the unknown (i.e. pain, recovery, results). I had to chuckle to myself when they rolled me into the operating room because, unlike other doctors who draw an extensive diagram on your face prior to surgery, Dr. Mentz merely needed to place a dot here and a dash there. Honestly, this is so easy for him he doesn’t need to draw a diagram; he could probably do the surgery with one eye closed and one hand tied behind his back.
Recovery consisted of a night at the surgery center in a nice, private room; staff was attentive and kind. The next few days at home were better than expected — not a whole lot of pain, just felt very tired and slept most of the first few days. Dr. Mentz will send a nurse to your home the week following surgery to check on your progress and ensure your wellbeing. The nurse will also remove drains and initiate medication refills. Swelling and bruising were definitely present, but not as extensive as I had imagined. And, as others have mentioned, the cooling machine you wear on your face the first week seemed to be quite helpful in reducing inflammation. After two weeks, I was able to go out of the house briefly, but felt much more comfortable at 3 weeks.
Currently, I am 10 months post-op and delighted with the results. I honestly didn’t realize how bad I looked until Dr. Mentz worked his magic. His work is precise and well planned — just the right amount of rejuvenation and lift, yet always natural. And, in case you are wondering, he is masterful at creating nearly undetectable scars. Mine healed beautifully, and I routinely pull my hair up in a ponytail for workouts without worry of being noticed.
Lastly, a few important things you need to know:
- Dr. Mentz and his staff are complete professionals. The surgery you are about to embark on — they do it every day, and they have the process down to a science. ACPS is a well-oiled machine.
- You are in excellent, capable hands because THIS IS EASY FOR DR. MENTZ.
- It may very well change how you feel about yourself. I am much more confident and positive about my self-image.
- I have never once regretted my decision and would do it again, in a heartbeat.
- Lastly, you will read reviews from many people — mostly great, but some might leave you questioning. And, not every outcome is going to be perfect — no physician or person is perfect all the time. But, it’s all about having realistic expectations and the exceptionally high odds Dr. Mentz can produce the outcome you desire. Take it from a true skeptic — I am now a believer in Dr. Mentz. More
