What is Daxi?

Created specifically to target the glabellar lines (the “angry 11 lines” that form between your eyebrows), the brand-new Daxi is a botulinum injectable that offers an anti-aging solution to those who want to concentrate more on this area. In addition, Daxi has been reported to last longer than Botox and other neuromodulators — up to 24 weeks, which is eight extra weeks.

How Daxi works

Like all botulinum injectables, Daxi (daxibotulinumtoxinA) blocks the signal from the nerves to the muscle that has been injected. This decreases movement of those muscles, which allows the skin to smooth out. In this way, Daxi is the same as other botulinum injectables. What makes it different is that combines the standard 150kD botulinum toxin A with a proprietary peptide — an amino acid chain that helps to stabilize it and leads to longer duration.

Daxi treatment details

Before treatment, your skin will be cleansed, and if you prefer, a numbing agent will be applied.

A small needle will administer Daxi to the targeted muscles, with the injections taking only about 10 to 15 minutes.

Recovery and results

Like most cosmetic injectables, there’s no recovery time with Daxi, but some patients have minor redness, tenderness, and bruising at the injection sites. You’ll notice muscle control in the injected areas decreasing in 5 to 7 days, with final results in two weeks. These results can last up to 24 weeks, longer than any other neuromodulator available.
