About Restylane facial filler

We’re excited to offer Restylane dermal filler at our medical spa in Houston. Its active ingredient is stabilized hyaluronic acid, the ingredient that helps keep the skin plump, healthy, and hydrated. Restylane fills areas underneath the skin, which results in softened lines, the provision of youthful volume where needed, and a lifting effect.

Restylane treatment details

Before treatment, you may be given a local anesthetic, but it may not be necessary. Your specialist will carefully administer Restylane with an ultra-fine needle into the skin with a series of injections where needed. The injections generally take 15 to 30 minutes.

Recovery and results

Restylane results can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, depending on the patient. At that point, the patient’s natural metabolism will break the filler down and clear it away. Results can be maintained with touch-up treatments (using less filler) after the initial results fade. As with most cosmetic injectables, downtime after treatment is minimal, but there may be mild redness, swelling, bruising, and/or tenderness in the treated area for up to one week.

(It’s best to avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, St. John’s wort, and vitamin E before and after a treatment to minimize bruising.) Some patients also experience a “full” sensation at the injection site. It’s best to avoid alcohol, exercise, heat, and UV exposure for 24 hours after treatment.

After your initial treatment, it’s a good idea to schedule touch-up treatments every 4 to 9 months for optimal results — however, many patients see their results lasting much longer.
