Shapely, perky buttocks are a key characteristic of an attractive, youthful figure. Unfortunately, as a result of aging, gravity, pregnancy, genetics, and/or large weight loss, the buttocks often develop a sagging, flattened appearance that lacks roundness and definition.
Following your surgery, Dr. Mentz may recommend an overnight stay or outpatient surgery for patients who live within 20 miles of our office so a registered nurse can visit and monitor your recovery. You will experience bruising and swelling after a buttocks enhancement procedure. Ice packs are helpful to reduce swelling and discomfort. Much of the bruising and swelling will diminish within 2-3 weeks.
Because fat grafts come from a patient’s own body, there is little to no chance of an allergic reaction. During the recovery process, it is important to take short walks. More strenuous activities and aerobic exercise may be resumed in 3-6 weeks or when Dr. Mentz advises. Most patients are able to return to work in approximately 1-2 weeks following surgery.
